If you’ve read my previous review on Dark Souls then you already know I’m a fan of the series. I’ve only had the game since release and it happens to be my favorite out of the trilogy. Dark Souls 2 you once again step into 3rd person view of the cursed (This time I want with swordsman) but setting takes place in Drangelic. The story of Dark Souls 2 is similar a little to D.S. 1 where players customize a character and explore Drangelic to find out the fate of the undead, again players can collect souls for leveling up, weapon repairs and attuning magic and burning Estus flask to lessen your chances of getting invaded by other players but also the draw back to this is it can also lessen your chances of co-op as well. Bonfires also make a return and with a new trick, you can now fast travel between bonfires.

Dark Souls 2 story definitely delivers as much as the first Dark souls. If you’re a gamer with a need for in-depth story telling and frustration then Dark Souls 2 is the game for you . While your single player journey maybe a tough one; you can still count on friends and friendly allies to help you thru tough times whether it’s just to group up on take on bosses you are struggling with. I love the online this time around, it’s easier to connect plus servers are better also taking into account that invading other players worlds is now a sin can you can be bounty hunted by the Blue covenant ( police basically) of Dark Souls. If you manage to protect the person ( host) of the world you were summoned to protect by defeating or allowing the host to escape then you get a reward mostly from just doing your job as someone from the Blue Covenant. Enemies also disappear this time around so if you’re into farming for souls then you’ll have no such luck in Dark souls 2 as there is a limit to how many times a enemy can be killed over and over again before they simply stop respawning all together. When I did my test run of this, for me it came out to a total of five times I was able to leave the area and come back to farm the enemies before I was forced to move cause what’s a area without enemies? Well I don’t know either but it did give me time to look around for chest and other valuables.
Dark Souls 2 controls are overall a improvement in everyway from the previous game, you can string along combos better of course depending on the weapon and your level of dexterity, strength and stamina. I mean the beauty of watching your character duel wield two swords ( or two shields though that’s really not a Ideal spot you want to be in) and dance on your enemies is always awesome to the eyes and to my RPG loving soul. The only back fire to this choice of duel wielding are the bosses , the bosses really show they don’t have time for that.

The art choice here is excellent just a better and more improved version of Dark souls one with a edge of more griddiness especially in the areas that are set in the night time, NPCs I would say a little more creative here and still you can fight and perma-kill any NPC while losing access to their inventory and story line quest you gain said NPCs armor and weapons, it just all depends on your playstyle which is a unique way honestly to get player to interact with the world.
“As always fight the good fight and die honorably” I would say I’m just joshing with you but I’m not.
*Greatly recommended
