“I sat there, at door peering through the door screen being bored, I made my way over to the sofa. Well hello, my name is Salem and I have a story to tell or a adventure if I may, let’s start from the top. My previous owners not to be rude but…I hate them. I know, I know you may be thinking…Salem! hate is such a strong word. Well, you’re wrong!, pardon me while I take a second to stretch”, he says walking over to the edge of the sofa looking up and down before he jumps down, first on the tan cushion then his paws hit the hardwood floor. “Are we finished? Yes, you writer”,” oh sorry and I rambling?”, “can I?”, “No, no please do go on”, he sighs before he continues “married couple with two little monsters, one as big as a bear, two brats really. One a boy much old than the baby she…well she wasn’t much trouble outside her wretched screaming and wailing but back to the boy with shoulder length hair; oh I remember his face well. With the day in, day out torment, tail pulling, and terrorism, weeks at a time without food, one can only be so curious as to why bother with bring me into your home with such like of love, such lack of devotion, suck..lack..of praise. I awake to the darkness of night, the distance whinning of that baby was nothing I couldn’t handle as my owner before these lovely two was an old lady who found me on the street. Don’t ask me of my mother, I don’t know nor care, more importantly as the sun rose this one particular day, I had noticed the MS’ packing up my things. “Hey” I had said “hey, what are you doing”, “these are my things!”. “throwing my black furred body against her ankles, even with all my force she didn’t budge rather she just picks me up tossing me into the cage, indeed that morning it was too early for this. All I wanted to do was go to sleep but she had kept we awake, “Hey, where are we going” I shouted as she pulls out of the drive way, but says nothing, she won’t even look at me just blast the radio, “how ridiculous heights”.”

“Sitting in the car with her, I continued to try and get her attention but to no avail, only making her more frustrated and me concerned. Then I heard it the loud rumbling of what sounded like….like, well honestly I don’t know but believe me it was terrifying”. “As this vehicle pulled up next to us, I backed up into the far corner of the cage, she reached in, I screech and weld, passing me off to who I would come to know as my future owner. He lifts up the front of the cage to his face and lets out a wide smile “Move your ugly mug away from the door”, I shouted but he just continues, then sticks his fingers through one of the small holes on the cage, freighted I try backing up further even though I know it’s useless. “Hey thanks for taking him, just with the new baby and everything….”, “no, no, it’s fine, been kinda lonely at my house anyway”, “ As I watch from the tail of the car, he towers over her as they hug shortly but even with his arms they won’t fit around her, his hair like a clump of entangled yawns, thick and tight. He walks back over and puts me in the car, the passenger chair to be specific. Wrapping the seat belt around me. “Hey,…..Hey where are we going?” hoping that I can at the least get a response out of him “Don’t worry, little guy” he clears his thought before continuing “Salem, we are headed home now”, interesting I had thought “new home?”. So once again my love, thrown to the way basket my some undeserving family.”
As the moments came and went, the car comes to a stop “ah, the once again smell of fresh air”, “ don’t worry buddy we, are home” swinging open the door he sets me on the floor as he runs back outside. “Give me two seconds buddy, I have to go grab some more of your things”, “hey don’t leave me on…..hey! heeey!” my shouts get me no where as he flew out the door with thundering speed; coming back inside, it was almost like I had enough time to miss him…almost, he soon lets me out to wonder. It was interesting, no restrictions or space really. Not to complain but it wasn’t big but nor small, still for the first time someone that was at the least nice. As I made my way into one of his two rooms, I was terrified and amazed by all these portraits most of faces well some look humanoid like him and others having monstrous faces like mouths where their nose and eyes should be, or entirely animalistic faces all together. Then there he was….I turned to my left and there was another cat staring right back at me, I move up, he moves up, I moved down then so does he. I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me but boredom conquered my curiosity, I left that room seeing what else I could find.

As the months have gone by, Terrene and I have developed this bond or friendship? Maybe brotherhood is a better term. Every since he has started allowed me to peer my head out of the screen door in early mornings, I have had the pleasure of squirrels and birds of all kinds. Especially with the ones who find themselves wondering on my porch with bliss, the look in their eyes is the most satisfying feeling as the scurry off back up a tree or into the wind but they know behind this wall I am nothing more than a horror movie on film but what they do not realize is that soon my plan for mission squirrel food was about to begin and soon they shall fear my Cat reign”, “Come on Salem, I gots some wet food”, “oouu, I smell sea fish and turkey”.
